Seminar Series

When the Covid-19 Pandemic first struck the world in 2020, I decided to develop a seminar series for students, teachers, and artists to continue their education. With theatrical summer programs, internships and positions cancelled, I recognized that so many opportunities to learn had been lost. I had been fortunate enough to attend a myriad of workshops and intensives during my summers working as a scenic artist, and I wanted to ensure that current students received a similar opportunity. I invited scenic artist & designer, Joe Burt to act as my co-host and associate, and we went to work developing the series, focusing on Scenic Art, Safety, Design, and Industry Culture.

Theatre students and educators from a variety of universities were invited to virtually attend the seminar series free of charge. We asked participants to consider donating to the series fund if they were willing and able; proceeds went towards the See Lighting Foundation which aimed to support immigrant theatre artists directly impacted by Covid-19, and those without access to government resources.

Over 100 participants joined the 4-week seminar series and helped raise close to $1K.
